When should you replace your shoes?
Dead cushioning is the quiet cause of tired feet, shin splints and returning heel pain. Enter your shoe and use, and get an honest replacement date.
Signs your shoes are already dead
- The heel counter leans inward and the shoe won't stand straight
- Midsole creases are deep, or the foam feels hard and flat
- Tread is smooth under the ball or heel
- Old aches (heel, shin, knee) creep back for no clear reason
- One shoe wears visibly more than the other
Typical lifespans we use
- Running shoes: about 400 miles of cushioning
- Walking / daily shoes: about 500 miles
- Work boots: about 12 months at 40 hours a week
- Dress shoes: about 24 months at regular wear
Estimates only — weight, gait and surfaces move the date. If the signs above are present, trust them over the calculator.
